Barbara Hacha is the author of several books, both fiction and nonfiction. She has done extensive research on hobos and hobo culture. Line by Line, her first novel is the story of a young woman growing up in central Ohio during the Great Depression. When things become to difficult for her at home she decides to leave town - by freight train -- and to try and survive on her own terms, as a hobo.
